Byetta Cancer Risk FDA Warning, Lawsuits Filed

Consumers should be aware the FDA has issued a warning concerning Byetta™ and its link to increased pancreatic cancer risk and increased thyroid cancer risk. As we have have previously reported, there may be a link between Byetta and increased cancer risk.

Byetta is a prescription drug for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, and was approved by the FDA in 2005. Byetta, also known as exenatide, is administered to diabetics via injection.

Since its release, Byetta has a history of complications, including acute pancreatitis, hemorrhagic and necrotizing pancreatitis, and altered kidney function.

Recent studies link Byetta to dramatically increased pancreatic cancer risk. Patients also are claiming Byetta may result in increased thyroid cancer risk.

There are lawsuits pending against Byetta’s manufacturer, alleging a failure to warn consumers about Byetta’s increased pancreatic cancer risk.

If you or a family member were diagnosed with pancreatic cancer or thyroid cancer after taking Byetta, or after taking exenatide, you may be entitled to file a legal claim for significant compensation.
