Consumers Complain About Defective Sony Laptop Touchpads / Trackpads
Consumers are voicing complaints about Sony laptop touchpads and trackpads. The Sony laptop touchpads and trackpads begin to fail after a period of time, likely because of a manufacturing defect. The Sony touchpad failure generally results in the onscreen cursor moving in a direction opposite to the touchpad user’s input, i.e. the touchpad input is reversed. Thus when a Sony laptop owner moves the cursor “up” using the touchpad, the cursor moves “down” on the screen.
Other consumers report repeated or random opening and closing of windows and programs on Sony laptops. Sony laptop owners report significant frustration with the defect.
