Defective Philips / Magnavox Plasma TVs

Consumers are complaining Philips manufactured and sold defective Philips-Magnavox plasma televisions. The defectively manufactured Philips-Magnavox plasma televisions overheat during normal use. The overheating renders the Philips-Magnavox plasma TV inoperable and thus, the plasma televisions stop working.

Shareholders Investigate Unfair Deal in Bankrate Buyout

On July 22, 2009 Bankrate, Inc. (Nasdaq: RATE), which operates Bankrate.com and other personal finance websites, said on Wednesday it agreed to a $571 million buyout by private equity firm Apax Partners.
